Charity – The True Path to Achieve Happiness and Peace

Charity is one of the best virtues of mankind. Every religion asks its followers to interact in charities for the guy citizenry and even with other living beings. Charity means using your energy, talent, resources, money, possessions, or whatever else, to assist people that need them. Jesus asked his followers to try to do good to the people that are less privileged within the society,

“But once you provide a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you’ll be blessed. Although they can’t repay you, you’ll be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.” (Luke 14:13-14).
Holy Quoran exhorts Muslims to perform charity to achieve the love of God and follow the trail of righteousness within the following words,

“You cannot attain to righteousness unless you spend (in charity) out of what you’re keen on .” (The Holy Quran 3:92)
The basic spirit behind charity in religion is that man must share what God has given to him. Thus charity is additionally a way of giving justice to the guy citizenry and to serve God as all people are the youngsters of God.

Yet, the charity must not be finished getting any benefit reciprocally from this world in any form because then it becomes business and trading of 1 sort of property (wealth, time, knowledge, etc) with another sort of property (name, fame, respect from society, etc). it’s to be avoided any expectation as God Himself rewards those that do charity. a perfect act of charity is analogous to throwing your money into the river, which is completed silently and with no expectation or maybe an opportunity of return.

Charity for Name

Though charity may be a great virtue in religions, yet it’s often practiced by worldly and material people that don’t have much religious affiliation. Charity is completed by people that might not have any belief in heaven or God. Gates, who after being the richest man within the world for fourteen years, decided to quit his company Microsoft, to figure full time for the charitable activity of his foundation viz. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Gates isn’t alone in such charitable works. Warren Buffet, the second richest man within the world too plans to donate quite $37 billion from his $44-billion fortune to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. most of the most important charities on the planet are found out by a number of the richest man on the planet, who donated most of their fortune for the charitable work.

Most of those people aren’t known to be religious and even spiritual. Yet they were motivated by their inherent desire to try to do good for all citizenry or to satisfy the will of God. What motivates even a non-religious person to try to charity, if they need no faith in God or rewards after this life?

Worldly Motivation of Charity

Most people become charitable once the cash stop giving them satisfaction. this will be explained from the subsequent example.

Suppose you’re stranded in a desert and thirsty for days. you’re close to dying if you are doing not get water for a few moments. an individual approaches you with a glass of water and asks $ 1000 because of the price of 1 glass of water. You argue with him saying that the worth is just too high. He says that if you would like it, this is often the worth you’ve got to pay. You pay the worth reluctantly as you would like the water desperately. However, once you’ve got drunk your first glass of water, he offers you a subsequent glass of water at an equivalent price. you’ll refuse to pay as your desperation has reduced. could also be you’ll still pay $ 100 for one glass of water. Thus the worth of water would still diminish with every glass you drink. Soon a time would come, once you will refuse to drink a glass of water, albeit the person pays you $ 1000.

The value of cash too reduces for each person and gradually becomes a liability instead of an asset as excess money brings with it many problems and miseries in life. an upscale person suffers from the threat of life as many of us would really like to grab his money. He loses the respect and love of the commoner who feels jealous and even angry about his riches and his lifestyle, which they will not afford. They often brand him capricious, dishonest, and even a thief of society. Thus excess wealth rather than giving any satisfaction becomes a source of pain to the man of means.

The excess money is like the excess weight of the body, which rather than making you beautiful, causes you to ugly; rather than making you healthy, causes you to unhealthy, and rather than making you cheerful makes, you sad.

How many people would mind losing weight, if it might be possible to offer your excess weight to an individual with no pain? Can there be any sacrifice involved in giving your excess weight, which you are doing not want anyway? that’s why Koran said that you simply must give what you’re keen on and not what you dislike.

Yet most of people still attach themselves with the surplus wealth or weight, because it is extremely painful to part away something that has become a part of you. The wise men, however, plan to shed their excess wealth to realize what they lost within the process of acquiring wealth. They donate their wealth and their time in charitable work in order that they will gain respect from society. In a way, this might not be a charity but the maximization of the worldly pleasure that comes from compliments and respect by spending some money within the name of charity.

Challenges of Charity

It is easy to throw your money within the name of charity, but extremely difficult to try to a charity that does well to the planet. Donations, if given to the incorrect person, may rather than doing any good for the society do considerable harm to the planet. Nowadays, thousands of charities have cropped up merely to receive donations from such people that have lost the pleasure of cash within the name of charity.

The right sort of charity is explained in Gita in the following words. Lord Krishna says,

“Charity that’s given as a matter of duty, to a deserving candidate who does nothing reciprocally, at the proper place and time, is named a Saattvika or True charity.”(Gita 17:20)
Therefore, all charities need to tend to a deserving person at the proper place and time. If the wealthy person is merely curious about his interest viz. getting publicity and worldly name and fame, he could also be least bothered to the utilization of charity. As a result, the charity often goes within the hands of the unscrupulous people as they’re more likely to convince the rich persons for the share of his charity than a deserving one that could also be too dignified to hunt alms from an upscale person.

Thus the charity has given for the aim of achieving name and fame from the planet often results in failure because the world in severe criticism, if the charity is distributed to the wrong people. Thus the person, whose purpose of the charity was to urge worldly returns, often feels disappointed as his investment within the sort of charity fails to supply the specified results.

Jesus, therefore, asks the people to try to to the charity without publicity and expectation as God rewards those that don’t seek any fruits during this world.

“Be careful to not do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you’ll haven’t any reward from your Father in heaven. So once you give to the needy, don’t announce it with trumpets, because the hypocrites neutralize the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the reality, they need to receive their reward fully.
But once you give to the needy, don’t let your left know what your right is doing, in order that your giving could also be secret. Then your Father, who sees what’s wiped out the secret, will reward you. (Matthew 6:1-4)
The Holy Koran emphasizes that the spirit of charity more important than the act of charity. It gives benefit as long as one gives it voluntarily out of affection of God or humanity instead of a requirement that’s forced upon them by scriptures. Charity can’t be measured in terms of dollars, but measured in terms of the spirit of the giver as Koran says,

“A kind word with forgiveness is best than charity followed by injury.. . . O you who believe, make not your charity worthless by reproach and injury, like him who spends his wealth to be seen by people. . .” (2:263-264)
The Real Purpose of Charity

Charity actually may be a test of the assumption of God. It hardly changes the planet or the people to whom the charity is given. However, it transforms the one that gives charity. it’s easy to mention that one loves God and his children, but few people can follow up their words in deeds. Charity without expectation of return is possible only an individual truly believes in God or the Spirit. it’s tough to offer away worldly things to someone with no expectation of returns. Every act of charity establishes that the charitable man has been ready to develop detachment from worldly belongings including fame and name, which is feasible as long as the person, is basically spiritually awakened. Yet, nothing goes to waste during this world. It only transforms into another form by the laws of nature. the fabric things, therefore, get converted into spiritual realization by the act of charity.

The principles of Karma as enshrined in Gita states that each action is sort of a seed that automatically results into the fruit as per the laws of nature. Whatever you sow, so will you reap is an old proverb. the planet seems to figure on this fundamental of action and reaction.

Thus whenever, an individual performs any act, he gets something material reciprocally. If we do our job within the office, we are paid our salaries. once you put some money in the bank you get interested. once you invest in shares, your investment increases or decreases with the share market.

All actions result in some results. Charity is not any exception. All acts of charity are highly rewarded by this world. The world tries to return what you’ve got given thereto. However, if you do not accept the return in terms of cash, it tries to honor you by words of praise. If you even refuse praise and honor, it respects you from the rock bottom of the guts.

Every piece of wealth, if sacrificed during this world, results into some worldly returns during this world itself. the character tries to balance your acts in a way that the planet doesn’t feel obliged by you. It pays all material charity with material rewards. All material rewards, however, binds the person to the planet and such acts of kindness can’t be said to be unselfish. The people receiving the charity feel inferior to the people that give charity. The glorification of charity during this world, therefore, doesn’t provide any spiritual satisfaction to the person because the charity doesn’t remain charity after being paid by the planet in a similar way or by an alternate coin.

Charity is supposed for the Spirit

One needn’t attend for the after-life to urge the important benefits of charity because charity provides instant benefits. However, the advantages aren’t material but spiritual which satisfies the soul of the person and brings happiness and peace in his life. Only by charity one can feel the divine happiness in his soul which comes by giving the fabric possession of the self to other fellow beings without expectation. Since the receiver can’t pay back the fabric wealth, his blessings and best wishes bring joy to the giver. The result’s far more contented life for the giver as he has been ready to a minimum of partially repay the debt of the planet which of God.
